I'm married to Cheryl and we have two children, Joanna and William. We are members of St Philip & St James Church.
I worked overseas for 10 years as a pilot with Mission Aviation Fellowship. Initially this was training in the USA, followed by French language study and two terms in Africa, one in Madagascar and one in Uganda.
We returned from overseas in 1999 in order to follow a vision for setting up a missionary support service. In March 2000, the online service, called OSCAR, was launched on the Internet. Today, OSCAR provides advice, information and resources for over 10,000 users a month, many of them mission workers scattered all over the world. As Founding Director I oversee every aspect of OSCAR: updating the website, communicating with users, managing the charity, raising funds, publicising our services etc. I have an office at Redcliffe Mission Training College in Gloucester and work closely with a broad range of mission organisations and other mission support services. I also teach various mission support related topics with students at Redcliffe and All Nations Christian College in Hertfordshire.
If you want to learn more about what OSCAR does, see the website at www.oscar.org.uk
